The amulet had saved me. I examined the back more carefully and read the small inscription underneath: "Ancient Warping Talisman by JeremyInc®. Warning, do not follow instructions." This I found to be quite peculiar, but I'm glad I was where I was... well, kind of. I didn't quite know what to do now. The wind was blowing in a Easterly direction towards a large, jagged, mountainous island. I had to avoid it. Due to the wind, I could only turn Northeast or Southeast to avoid certain death, but which way should I go?
